WOODFIN, N.C. (WLOS) — On Wednesday, President Donald Trump announced a baseline tariff of 10% would be imposed on imports from a wide range of other countries and higher tariff rates on countries he says might unfairly exploit the United State’s trading system.
The recent global tariffs imposed on various trade partners could impact local small businesses.

He said with Trump’s most recent actions, there will likely be a microeconomic impact felt on a local scale, affecting operations, pricing, and overall market dynamics for small businesses in the area.

“Just listening to how leaders from other countries, whether it’s Canada or anybody else, how they are responding to Trump’s what I call bullying of the international market is not good, and it’s going to be very difficult to spin this into some really good lemonade,” Boggs said.
